PiYo Live is a mixture of movements inspired by H.I.I.T., Yoga & Pilates, designed to give you a full-body workout. There’s also a ‘burny thigh” section, according to our newest instructor, Sara!
How long does the class last?
High or low intensity?
It can be both! Higher intensity than yoga or Pilates, but not so manic as a classic H.I.I.T. class.

What will I gain from this class?
PiYo Live is perfect if you are looking for an upbeat workout where you will sweat more than a classic yoga or Pilates class.
You will use your own bodyweight to help achieve an immensely satisfying workout session, increasing your flexibility, aiding weight-loss and boosting your overall health. You will build muscle and kick start your metabolism with our class, plus, there’s a post-workout bonus as your body still carries on burning calories after you exercise.
What type of equipment is used?
Just yourself and a yoga mat.
Who is the class aimed at?
Everyone! PiYo Live is a great alternative to yoga and Pilates; with a bit more energy and zing! Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Beginner/ Intermediate/ Advanced class? Is it suitable for anyone?
This class is great for anybody. If you are a beginner then you can start slowly and build us as you get fitter. You will also have plenty of rest intervals before you ramp things up again. And remember, you can always stop and rest in the class if you need a break. We cater to a variety of abilities!
How many in a class?
12. Our smaller class sizes mean that our instructor, Sara, can keep a closer eye on each member, checking their form, throughout the class to ensure safety.
Who is the teacher?
We welcome Sara Johnson to the Beckwith Gym team to teach this class! Sara is from Denver, Colorado, and arrived in Harrogate at the end of 2019. She has been teaching PiYo Live for four years and is a Level 3 Personal trainer.
Am I required to bring anything to this class?
Just yourself and your water bottle!
