Teen Academy

Teen Academy is a training workshop for teen members designed to educate and introduce them to correct training methods and gym etiquette.

The workshops are split into 3 sections:

  1. 10 minutes covering the training methods involved in the 2nd part of the workshop. Creating an understanding and knowledge base for teens to build a foundation on, to then continue in the future in their own fitness endeavours.
  2. 30 minutes of physical training, putting the training methods into action from section 1, with emphasis on form and technique on muscles used.
  3. 5 minutes stretch and mobility section, where questions can also be asked, related to the workshop or on general fitness.

There are two classes scheduled a week for both beginners and advanced. These are at 4 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Teens must advance through the Teen Academy Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards before gaining full access to the equipment in the gym. The awards earnt will be posted on their ClubRight Profile once the instructor is happy with their level.

To receive the next Teen Academy Award, the instructor needs to feel comfortable with your knowledge and abilities. You may need to attend additional classes before progressing to the next level.

On successful completion of all classes, you will be awarded the Teen Academy Gold Award!

After that, you will be able to use the gym and classes with confidence.

Please note that ALL Teen Gym and Teen Gym Academy members must complete an induction before using the gym.

All teen members aged 13- 15 years will not be allowed to use the following equipment until they have successfully achieved the Bronze, Silver and Gold Teen Gym Awards:

Smith Press, Sled, Spartan Rig, Dumbbells, Hex Bar, Plyo Boxes, Squat Racks, Kettlebells and Fixed Barbells.

Low intensity

Teen Academy is a training workshop for teen members designed to educate and introduce correct training methods.

The workshop will be looking at a wide variety of equipment and understanding their benefits.

This class is perfect for all teens, who are new to the Gym environment and fitness.

12. Our smaller class sizes mean that our instructors can keep a closer eye on each member, checking their form, throughout the class to ensure safety.

H.I.I.T

A form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery.

Lift ITT

The Lift-IIT experience will incorporate basic strength training exercises with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells and bands, intermingled with short HIIT-type cardio bursts.

PILATES

These classes are based on core stability with particular emphasis on strengthening the abdominals to support the spine in everyday activity.

Rig Circuits

A dynamic full-body circuit class utilising our functional RIG kit. Not to be missed!

POWER KETTLE BELLS

A workout using one piece of equipment: Kettlebells. It works every muscle in your body, increases strength and improves your cardiovascular fitness.

SOULfusion

The SOULfusion experience includes short cardio bursts, yoga-inspired flows, balance sequences, body weight and weighted strength training exercises, choreographed to awesome music.

SOUL KickBoxing
