Teen Academy

Teen Academy is a training workshop for teen members designed to educate and introduce them to correct training methods and gym etiquette.

The workshops are split into 3 sections:

  1. 10 minutes covering the training methods involved in the 2nd part of the workshop. Creating an understanding and knowledge base for teens to build a foundation on, to then continue in the future in their own fitness endeavours.
  2. 30 minutes of physical training, putting the training methods into action from section 1, with emphasis on form and technique on muscles used.
  3. 5 minutes stretch and mobility section, where questions can also be asked, related to the workshop or on general fitness.

There will be two classes scheduled a week: one for beginners and one for advanced. These are at 4 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Advanced class is reserved for those who have successfully received the Teen Academy Bronze and Silver Awards on their ClubRight profile.

To receive the Teen Academy Silver Award, you must attend the “Beginners” classes and receive the Bronze Award. When the instructor feels comfortable with your knowledge and abilities, you will progress to the “advanced” class.

On successful completion of this class, you will be awarded the Teen Academy Gold Award!

After that, you will be able to use the gym and classes with confidence.

Please note that ALL Teen Gym and Teen Gym Academy members must complete an induction before using the gym.

All teen members aged 13- 15 years will not be allowed to use the following equipment until they have successfully achieved the Bronze, Silver and Gold Teen Gym Awards:

Smith Press, Sled, Spartan Rig, Dumbbells, Hex Bar, Plyo Boxes, Squat Racks, Kettlebells and Fixed Barbells.

BOOK CLASS

Low intensity

A “beginners” knowledge of general fitness and training.

The workshop will be looking at a wide variety of equipment and understanding their benefits.

This class is perfect for all teens, who are new to the Gym environment and fitness.

12. Our smaller class sizes mean that our instructors can keep a closer eye on each member, checking their form, throughout the class to ensure safety.
