Part of being Harrogate’s friendliest gym is making Beckwith comfortable for everyone, with accessibility as a top priority. Our gym is for everyone – here are some of the ways accessibility is championed at Beckwith.

A Gym for Everyone

At Beckwith, we strongly believe a gym is a place for everyone. If you’ve been going to the gym for years or never stepped foot in one, you should be able to walk in and feel comfortable.

What are some of the things we’ve done to help make Beckwith the friendliest & most approachable gym in Harrogate?

Firstly, we’ve got a range of equipment and classes available to suit all types of workout preferences. Don’t hesitate to go up and ask our team if you have any questions!

As well, we give every member a guided tour of our gym and equipment on their first day, so they know their way around.

Also, we offer 1 on 1 sessions with our excellent gym instructor team. They’ll work with you to design a fitness plan that’s suited to your needs exactly. You can find out more about these services here.

Physical Accessibility

Beckwith is physically accessible and completely wheelchair-friendly, including our entrance, gym space, and equipment.

If you have a disability and have any questions about accessing the gym or using our equipment, please reach out to us by email at: info@Beckwithhealthclub.co.uk

Beckwith & Skills 4 Living

Skills 4 Living is a Harrogate-based registered charity that provides care, support and accommodation to people in the Harrogate District with learning disabilities and autism.

Beckwith Health Club is working with them to provide fitness support. It’s a priority for the gym to enable individuals to independently access mainstream community services if they wish to. You can find out more about this on the Skills 4 Living website here.

The Skills 4 Living health team attends the gym to support the individuals who would like it. This can help make the space more accessible to all from the very start.

Qualified, 1 on 1 support is a big part of developing a positive relationship with the gym. If you’re new to it, it can be daunting to learn about fitness on your own.

This support eases the step into a community gym by guaranteeing professional assistance with workouts.

If you have any questions about Skills 4 Life or would like more information to share with someone who would be interested in joining the charity, please contact them here
