Beckwith’s Legs, Bums, and Tums class is a club favourite for many reasons.
Reason #1: how could you not love burning fat to an amazing soundtrack?
We’ll review everything you can expect from the class and what you need to know.
If you’ve not given it a go yet, this blog’s for you!
What happens in a Legs, Bums, and Tums (LBT) class?
The structure of an LBT class includes high-intensity workouts interspersed with brief rest periods. In this sense, it’s an aerobic class that will pump your heart rate and push your cardio limits.
Despite the structure being aerobic, LBT focuses on strength training. Classes use a mixture of weighted and bodyweight exercises to improve your muscle strength. If you’re new to it, learn more about strength training here.
Each class might not include the same exercises, but it’ll always involve a brief warm-up and cool-down to help prevent injuries.
Can I join the class with no strength training or weightlifting experience?
Absolutely!
LBT classes are designed for gym-goers and people at all levels of fitness. When it comes to exercises that require weights, the trainer will recommend a weight to use but will also adapt the exercise for anyone preferring to stick to body weight.
What’s more, if you’re worried about missing the class because of an injury or sore spot, check in with our team first. They’re all experienced professional trainers and might be able to recommend alternative exercises for you so you can still join in.
If you’d like to get to know our trainers better, say hi to them at Beckwith or check out their profiles here.
What’s the main benefit of joining a LBT class?
There are too many to choose from! But if we had to pick one…
LBT classes will increase your heart rate, burn fat and increase your metabolism. They’ll also strengthen and tone your muscles.
But, our main benefit is the incredible support you’ll receive from the trainer throughout the whole class. You’ll be shown how to carry out each exercise and corrected if you need more help. This kind of hands-on support is the same as you’d get by booking a private PT session but in an exciting, heart-pumping class.
For this reason, LBT is just as great for beginners as for seasoned gym-goers!
How do I join?
