What is SOULfusion?

SOULfusion is a 60-minute exercise class run by Sara at Beckwith Health Club. The class includes short cardio bursts, yoga-inspired flows, balance sequences, body weight and weighted strength training exercises. 

It goes without saying that each class is choreographed to excellent music!

Overall, it’s a great total body workout that’ll get your heart pumping and help increase your mobility. Keep reading for some common questions and answers about SOULfusion. 

Is it a cardio workout?

Yes! The class includes some light cardio to increase your heart rate. This is great for building up your cardio slowly, as the class does not require intense and long bursts of cardio. 

If you want to start working on cardio but aren’t sure where to begin, these light bursts will help to build up your abilities in a supportive environment. 

What’s more, SOULfusion’s cardio element helps with weight loss and maintenance, a better night’s sleep, lower blood pressure, and mental health. What’s not to love?

I’ve recently come back from an injury, is this class for me?

Absolutely!

SOULfusion is classed as a low-impact workout. What this means is you get all the benefits of a great workout, without the impact on your knees, hips, and ankles. 

This makes it great for people recently coming back to the gym after an injury, as well as older members and first-timers.

I’ve never used weights in my workouts, is this class for me?

SOULfusion uses light dumbbells (less than 5kg) for some of the exercises. If you’re interested in trying out some body weight movements, this is a good way to get started.

The weights are light and Sara, your class instructor, will check your form is correct. You can read more about her profile and background here!

What else do I need to know about SOULfusion?

All you’ll need to bring with you to class is a yoga mat and a pair of dumbbells between 0.5 and 2KG each. You can get these from the main gym. And don’t forget a bottle of water!
