One of Beckwith Health Club’s assets is its extensive class schedule. There’s so much to choose from each week that our members never get bored!

Gym classes are a great way to boost or maintain your fitness. For one thing, there are lots of benefits to group exercise, such as accountability and a sense of community (check out our blog on this here). 

For our members who have gotten into a routine with classes, we’ve put together suggestions for new types of activity you might like to try. See below!

If you like Yoga, then you’ll love: PiYo

Yoga is the perfect workout for a good stretch, a moment of mindfulness, and to work on your flexibility.

If you’ve enjoyed a yoga class and are looking to meet the same training goals with a new activity, we highly recommend Sara’s PiYo. 

In Sara’s words, PiYo is a fusion of Pilates and Yoga. It involves a combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), cardio exercise, flexibility, and strength training. A fun, full-body exercise that’s suitable for all levels.

If you like H.I.I.T., then you’ll love: BattleFit

H.I.I.T is a very popular form of training, and for good reason. The benefits of H.I.I.T. workouts include: a time and calorie-effective workout, building endurance, boosting the metabolism, and improving your heart health, to name a few.  

If you’re loving the benefits of a H.I.I.T. workout but are tiring of the classes, why not give something new a try?

If you like Circuits, then you’ll love: Power Spin

These two classes might not initially seem to have much in common, but they’re more similar than you think.

Circuit training is an excellent full-body workout, and is a good way to up your cardio and endurance. 

Spin differs in that it is not a full-body workout, it’s instead focused on your core, glutes, and legs. 

However, if you’re looking to switch up your circuits class for another intense, 30-minute endurance push, you need to try a spin class. Spin will get your legs moving and your heart pumping without putting pressure on your knees and joints – perfect for those who are recovering from an injury, especially as circuits can impact the joints if you’re suffering from an injury.
